(Fashion bloggers making the magazine a thing of the past)
By: Francesca Salac
Stylish Filipina fashion citizens are a showing us what’s hot, what’s fresh and what’s now via the internet. Thanks to Blogspot.com, Chictopia.com, Lookbook.nu and many other blog sites have been able to give us an inside look on there everyday style.
This has caught the eye of many fashion magazines and other fashion blogs. Nylon magazine has published a story featuring some of these blogs in a recent issue. Many international magazines have published stories as well in Korea and the Philippines. Pictured here is a an article from Preview magazine in the Philippines, the article is titled “Virtual Muses.” Some featured are Manilafashionobserver.blogspot.com, ilovemartine.blogspot.com and littlemissdressup.com.
The best part about most of these blogs is that the bloggers are the photographers as well. Many of their blogs showcase pictures that they have captured themselves and many of them are very talented photographers. Diane Abapo, a 4th year at UCLA, is an amazing photographer and showcases her photos on two of her blogs, basquewaist.blogspot.com and leftovers.blogspot.com. She also has her own photography website, dianeabapo.com.
Thanks to these fashion bloggers and photgraphers we may never have to buy another magaizine again for style inspiration. Because of the internet style and fashion are more accessible to fashion citizens and has given access to the average fashion muses a chance at inspiring others with their edgy and unique styles.
